Arrive early: If you're new to networking, plan to arrive early, when there are fewer people in the room, and it's easier to navigate in the crowd. Smile: No matter how shy you are, smile to those around you. Open position: As you are talking to others, keep your body at a degree angle to the other person, so that others can enter the conversation easily.
LIsten: Ask the next person that you meet to tell you their story, or why they do what they do. Watch their face light up, as they share Everyone loves to tell their story. Ask for it, listen, and enjoy! Memory Hooks: Using a person's name or remembering a detail is huge in building relationships. Take notes on their card. Keep moving : The best networkers stay in a spot for three to five minutes, and then move on.
